Even if the Orb mods turn out to be a great change, there’s still one more aspect of mod bloat that needs to change: acquiring mods. Unlocking mods in Destiny is wholly tied to RNG. If you are looking for a specific ammo finder mod, you’ll need to get lucky by decrypting Engrams or hope Ada-1 sells it one day. You shouldn’t bet on the latter, as Ada-1’s mod inventory has gotten so bloated that it can take multiple months before she sells what you need. Worse, she’s your only source of Charged with Light and Warmind Cell mods. If you want to make a Firepower grenade build or use Protective Light, you need to check her inventory every single day and hope she eventually sells it. Better hope you don’t miss it, or you’ll be waiting months for another chance.

The reality is that Destiny 2’s free-to-play experience is a demo, not a free game. You get to experience a short quest in the Cosmodrome, play Destiny 2’s ritual activities that are in dire need of better reward incentives, and try out the Prophecy dungeon. That’s it. The worst part is this wasn’t always the case. When Shadowkeep first came out, free-to-play Guardians had access to three raids and single-player narrative campaigns atop of what’s currently available. Shadowkeep’s version of New Light was a small slice of the core Destiny 2 experience. Beyond Light’s version is a platform to sell DLC and nothing else.

Coup de Grâce is the final mission of Season of the Hunt. You'll work alongside Crow to hunt down the Hive Celebrant that's found refuge in the Ascendant Plane inside the Dreaming City. You should be able to start this quest by talking to the Crow at the Tangled Shore, not the H.E.L.M. The mission is relatively easy and shouldn't take long to compl

PvP: Crucible, Gambit, and Trials of Osiris have hundreds of Triumphs that give around ten points each. Even if you hate PvP, consider playing a little of each mode every week to unlock a wide range of Trium

The Ace of Spades, more simply known as “Ace,” debuted back in Destiny and was reprised in the Forsaken expansion. To this day, the Ace represents what many players would call the “ideal” hand cannon for

Most builds in Destiny 2 have a hard time functioning with how limited our armor slots are. Helmets require ammo finders, arms need Champion mods, chests need damage resistance (DR), legs need ammo scavengers, and the class item typically fits expensive Artifact mods. PvP players have a little more room for experimentation, but PvE players have to spec for these things to have a smooth build for the endgame. If you don’t believe me, run a Grandmaster Nightfall without any DR mods and see how far you get. Run a Master Lost Sector without any ammo finders and see just how inconsistent ammo drops are. These mods are meta for a reason.

Helmets are about to suffer the same fate as arms, arguably worse. While most arm mods give minor buffs in PvE, helmet mods include ammo finders that bypass Destiny’s otherwise random ammo economy. Most players run two ammo finders in PvE, but now they’ll be forced to use one if they want to take advantage of Charged with Light or other Orb mods. Crucible players will need to forgo targeting mods altogether if they want their Primary and Special weapons to spawn Orbs.

I want to get all of my friends into Destiny. It’s an exceptional shooter when it's firing on all cylinders. But as long as the true Destiny experience is locked behind such a horrible new player experience and multiple paywalls, I’ll be farming for that sweet new gun on my lonesome.

This linear fusion from Destiny 2 Strategy dropped with the Warmind expansion in Year 1, but never really stood out like it used to. Now, with the major buffs to linear fusion rifles, alongside the seasonal mod “Particle Deconstruction,” this is the best weapon against bosses and monsters in Destiny

The Guardian is the player character itself, but it is referenced in the lore that he/she/they are considered a character. The Guardian has been the center of the last seven years of Destiny's events, moving about the system and defending humanity against its enem

Bungie's 30th Anniversary Pack for Destiny 2 introduced plenty of new activities and loot for players to dive into. The DLC added a new 6-player activity, usually reserved for the beginning of new seasons, called the ' Dares of Eternity .' The Dares of Eternity is less of a story-driven activity and more of a fun loot-driven activity that seems like Destiny's version of __ Wheel of Fortune. The new activity also ties into the game's new social space and NPC's in 'Xur's Treasure Hoard.' The social hub is where players will level their 'Strange Favor' with Xur and start the quest to get Destiny 2 's Forerunner exotic sidea Destiny needs to overhaul its New Light offerings to be more generous and better guide Guardians through this confusing video game. More importantly, Bungie needs to overhaul its DLC model to be clearer and more consumer-friendly. Seasons are too cheap for what they offer, but you can’t recoup costs by selling $20 expansion packs, Eververse skins priced higher than entire seasons, and $100 Digital Deluxe versions that let people bypass your overly convoluted DLC model.
