While Mall Brawl originally debuted on Switch and PC last year, this year's new Arcade Edition on consoles adds in better graphics and a remastered soundtrack . The game has over twenty years of Nickelodeon history to draw on, and there are dozens of Nickelodeon characters that could still show up . Not only is Timmy Turner the protagonist of a super popular Nickelodeon show, but he also has limitless potential for a fighting game kit. For those unfamiliar, Timmy Turner has two “fairy godparents,” Cosmo and Wanda, who grant his every wish. In the show, it's more often than not that the wishes go sideways and result in disastrous consequences. For this reason alone, Timmy Turner is a must-have for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl . Brawl Chess does a great job of redefining the way chess is supposed to look. Each of the chess pieces have been completely redesigned in order to represent cartoonish soldiers facing each other down on the battlefield. This is helpful for those who aren't very familiar with the game and find typical chess pieces a little too similar to keep track of. Jenny fits here for all the same reasons as Timmy Turner. She's the main character of her show, her kit basically writes itself, and My Life as a Teenage Robot , while not as popular as other Nickelodeon series, has enough of a following that Jenny would be missed from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl . Perhaps the most compelling reason listed above is that her kit is a no-brainer, as Jenny could play like a clone of Samus Aran from Metroid since her abilities in the TV show center around energy beams that protrude from her palms and chest. Regardless of how developers would choose to design her kit, there is enough in My Life as a Teenage Robot to make for an enjoyable roster addit

With only the two modes to play in, things can get dull fast. While it certainly isn't expected for a game to completely reinvent the game of chess , there could have been different scenarios or challenge modes useful for players wanting to improve their skills. In its current state Brawl Chess is just chess. There is nothing wrong with simplicity, but without additional features or game modes on top of a standard game of chess, Brawl Chess does feel a little bland. Those who want a well-made chess game that they can take on the go with the Switch though could do a lot worse than Brawl Chess, so it's got a niche and it fills it w
