Blizzard then revealed the next expansion coming to Hearthstone. Forged in Barrens will be the first expansion of The Year of the Griffin. When Forged in Barrens releases, Standard format will no longer include a combination of Basic, Classic, and current rotation cards . Instead, a new collection called Core Set consisting of 235 cards, along with the current sets, will be the only cards available in Standard. Core Set includes a mix of Basic, Classic, and Wild cards and will rotate over time. The rest of the Basic and Classic cards will move into the Wild format as part of the Legacy
Overwatch 2 isn’t the only game with expensive cosmetics (have you heard of Pokemon Unite? ) but it might be the only one that’s ever taken previously earnable skins and charged $20 for them. Maybe if you compare Overwatch 2 to similar f2p games like Apex Legends and Fortnite you’ll see that it’s prices are right in line, but no one is comparing Overwatch 2 to Apex Legends, they’re comparing it to Overwatch. The justification for a sequel already felt weak, now it just seems like Overwatch 2 only exists so Blizzard can charge more for skins. Overwatch fans got a closer look at the complex RPG systems coming to Overwatch 2 that will allow players to customize each character with unique sets of passive and active abilities to really define their individual playstyles in story mode. But with the release of Overwatch 2 and its debut season less than two weeks away, we now have a concrete picture of how the experience will play out, as well as how much it differs from what came before. This isn’t a premium product anymore, but instead a free game that anyone can download, jump into, and have a reasonably good time without spending a penny. There’s a free version of the battle pass too, albeit with far fewer rewards and a focus on grinding things out over a prolonged period of time, but it’s there, and that kinda rules.
For that reason I know that Kiriko is right up my street, and I’ll be playing her with a passion when launch rolls around, but knowing that potential to experiment is no longer possible unless I decide to grind my life away or make an investment kinda sucks, and takes away the free cadence of content I’d grown used to with the first game. This may be the price to pay for no loot boxes and a modernised progression system, but this feels like a teething pain instead of the game Overwatch 2 really wants to be. Perhaps I’ll be proven wrong and the payoff will be worthwhile, but right now I’m not so sure.

Alarm is a highly touted flex-support player coming into the league this season and should make an impact for the Philadelphia Fusion immediately. He has the opportunity to be one of the bright, young stars of the league with skill capable of matching the best flex-supports in the league like Sung-hyeon “JJoNak” Bang and Jooseok “Twilight” Lee. We probably won't be getting much more information about these unknown heroes any time soon, as we don't even have a confirmed release date for Overwatch 2 as of yet. Hopefully, some more news will start to trickle out over the upcoming mon
On the surface, the game is making all the right decisions. Both versions of the battle pass are packed with skins, sprays, charms, and a variety of content that outweighs anything its predecessor had in its first few months. Seasonal events are established, and an existing roster of heroes we’ve already fallen in love with have a generous roster of cosmetics and lore to build upon. I’m already invested, and for Blizzard that is half the battle right now.
