Filter Wheel Setup and Uses
This is just the standard filter wheel setup used on the Canadian Brewer Spectrophotometer Network. Other networks may differ
| Filter Wheel 1 | Filter Wheel 2 | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Position | Steps | Attenuation | Filter | Notes | Steps | Filter | Notes |
| 0 | 320 | FP | Film Polarizer | 0 | 0 | Clear | |
| 1 | 256 | 2.0 | GQD2 | Used for most measurements | 64 | 0.5 | ND1 |
| 2 | 192 | 3.0 | ND6 | Not used (Future Autosighting?) | 128 | 1 | ND2 |
| 3 | 128 | 0 | Clear | Used during FZ, FM | 192 | 1.5 | ND3 |
| 4 | 64 | 4.5 | GDQ2+2.5 | Not Used | 256 | 2.0 | ND4 |
| 5 | 0 | 1.7 | GDQ1 | Used for DT/RS Measurement* | 320 | 2.5 | ND5 |
In order to use Position 5 in filter wheel one in DT/RS, this must be enabled in IC Enter IC, and go down to “Second film polarizer” and press [key]h[/key]. This will change the name to “FW1@5 for DTRS” The Canadian Brewer Spectrophotometer Network has done this achieve higher counts during DT/RS test. The ideal counts for DT is 3 million counts on the high intensity and 1 million counts on the low intensity. For RS we are aiming for 1 million counts for best results.
