TeleType Communications

MM sets the Brewer program to its teletype (terminal) mode, whereby the operator may communicate directly with the Brewer via the computer keyboard and a set of low level commands.
Exit from teletype mode by typing EXIT. See Appendix H for more explanation on the TeleType feature.

List of commands

s refer to the number of steps to move

p# refers to the slit positions
t refers to number of times to repeat
R,0,5,7This command is used to measure the light intensity according to the variables setup. Often this command is combined with the O command to output the results. R,0,5,7:O
SL SL
  - Turn the SL bulb on
  - Points the zenith down
  - Open the iris
  - Set FW1 to position 1
  - Set FW2 to position 0
SL+ SL
  - Turn the SL bulb on
  - Points the zenith down
  - Open the iris
  - Set FW1 to position 1
  - Set FW2 to position 0

HG+ HG+
  - Turn the SL bulb on
  - Points the zenith down
  - Open the iris
  - Set FW1 to position 1
  - Set FW2 to position 0

1. MAX - Maximum micrometer position
2. OP - operating micrometer position
3. MIN - minimum micrometer position
TOP2MAXThis command will move the micrometer 1 to max/op/min position to max/op/min. It assumes the micrometer is already in the start location. This is use to help test the micrometer range.

BOP2MAXThis command will move the micrometer 2 to max/op/min position to max/op/min. It assumes the micrometer is already in the start location. This is use to help test the micrometer range.

x,s1,s2s1 and s2 refers to the number of steps to move for micrometer 1 and 2 respectively.x,100,200Moves both micrometer 1 and 2 to step s. Note: when moving backwards (negative number) it will set that as the new reference point. Click here more motor information.
