PD directs printing to a “D” file on the data drive rather than to the line printer. See also PN, PF.

PD at the start of a command string opens the “D” file and records the results from the following commands in the string in a more readable format than is seen in the raw data “B” file. A PD at the end of a command string ensures any remaining data in the computer buffer is emptied and written to the “D” file.
