TeleType Communications

MM sets the Brewer program to its teletype (terminal) mode, whereby the operator may communicate directly with the Brewer via the computer keyboard and a set of low level commands.
Exit from teletype mode by typing EXIT. See Appendix H for more explanation on the TeleType feature.

List of commands

A Repeats the command. Usually use in conjunction with another command move. (I.E. R,0,7,5:O:A) Press home to delete twice to go exit.

1. Turns on the mercury lamp

m refers to a motor number

M,10,500Moves motor m to step s. Note: when moving backwards (negative number) it will set that as the new reference point. Click here more motor information.

p# refers to the slit positions
t refers to number of times to repeat
R,0,5,7This command is used to measure the light intensity according to the variables setup. Often this command is combined with the O command to output the results. R,0,5,7:O
